Growth is a continuous process influenced by a number of factors. They are disease, rest, heredity, nutrition, exercise, function of organs and glands and socio-economic factors. Diseases affect growth to a great extent because prolonged illness causes tiredness, loss of physical structure to an extent, poor health, and lack of energy. Strength is built up in our body as a result of continuous work being performed followed by rest. Fatigue is overcome only by rest, which we take in the form of sleep. Sleep is a partially unconscious state where all voluntary activities like movement, eating, etc are stopped. Exercise tends to keep our body hale and healthy, supple, improves digestion, clears our mind and creates a fresh feel when done in a moderate amount. Proper circulation and digestion takes place when exercise is done to a correct amount. When overdone, it creates only tiredness.
